ACBA Honors Awards
The annual ACBA Honors Award was created in 2017 as the result of the Board of Trustees’ challenge to establish ACBA as a national thought leader in the building arts and preservation fields. Today, the event is the College’s largest fundraising event in support of student scholarships and academic programs. Thanks to those who supported this event, ACBA was able to award nearly $300,000 in scholarships in Academic Year 2023-2024.
On February 14, 2025, we will be honoring Colonial Williamsburg for their excellence in Historic Preservation. They provide support for over 580 buildings in the Historic Area, we undertake in-depth maintenance on approximately 120 structures open to the public. Though much has changed over the decades, our work is still grounded in a combination of archaeological, documentary, and field research. Colonial Williamsburg prioritizes written analyses of historic buildings, measured drawings, and photographs. This research material constitutes an essential and growing archive on the early American built environment and informs both their written work and our reconstruction designs. They share this knowledge with their visitors through the restorations and reconstructions in the Historic Area.
